History

Nov 1969 The Severn Vale Riding Club is founded, taking its membership from North Bristol and the surrounding areas.
1971 The Club competed officially for the first time.
1974 The Club Show Jumping Team wins the National Championships.
1979 Equitation Jumping and Prix Caprilli Teams both qualify for the National Championships.
1980 The Clanger Trophy is presented to the Club by Gabrielle Cash, who promptly wins it!
1981 Prix Caprilli Team qualifies for Championships. Show and Equitation Jumping Team second in Area Trials, Horse Trials Team third.
1982 Hilary McEwen-Smith becomes Club President.
1999 The Club is launched onto the Internet.
2000
The President, Hilary McEwen-Smith, is guest of honour at the Club's Thirtieth Birthday Party and Disco. Members old and new get together and look forward to the next thirty years.
2000
SVRC, in association with B & D and Saxon, run the Millennium Show for Riding Clubs.
2002 SVRC stages a comeback at Area competitions, doing well in all disciplines, winning the Riding Test and 3rd at Intermediate Showjumping at the Area Competitions.
2003 Novice indoor showjumping team win Area competition and are placed 2nd in National Championship at Hartbury. The club also introduces the “2ft club” and “New to Dressage” competitions.
2004 Novice indoor showjumping team 2nd in Area competition and qualify for National Championship. Dressage team qualify for National Finals at Lincoln.
2005 2005 Open Dressage team win the National Championships and also has the overall Individual Novice Dressage Champion.
2006 Novice Horse trials team win the Area Championship and qualify for the Nationals.
2007 Novice Horse Trials team get to the Nationals again – still to win it!
2008 Novice Horse Trials team placed 5th at Nationals, with individual 3rd and 5th.
